Appointment corruption accused had made rate chart, primary teacher for Rs 10 lakh

Niladri Das, the accused arrested in West Bengal's famous teacher appointment corruption case, has given shocking information. He said that a rate chart was made for the appointment, in which Rs 10 lakh was fixed for the post of primary teacher.

CBI sources said on Tuesday that Niladri and others, including others, had prepared a rate chart for the job, in which Rs 10 lakh was fixed for the primary teacher. During interrogation, the CBI has come to know that at the beginning of 2019 itself, the state CID had got information about this rate-chart. The CID had also arrested Niladri and nine of his associates.

It is noteworthy that Niladri is the Vice President of a company named NYS, which was given the responsibility of preparing and checking OMR sheets. He was not only running a racket regarding the appointment of teachers but also appointments in police and municipalities. From the District Magistrate's Office to the appointment in the Transport Department, he had made a rate chart.

Sources said Neeladri had close links with top people in the government, with whom jobs were sold in collusion. In this regard, a report is being taken from the State CID, from which further information is being collected. It is learned that initially Rs 10 lakh was fixed for the primary teacher, while Rs 8 lakh was being charged for the job in the state police.

Apart from this, 13 lakh rupees were taken in the name of the job in the Indian Army and 1.5 lakh rupees for the job of clerk in municipalities. 11 lakhs was fixed for the post of food sub-inspector in the Food Department, while Rs 7 lakh was to be paid for the job in the District Magistrate's office. At present, the CBI is preparing to take a report from the CID in this regard.
